Ahead of the European Championships, several top-flight players have applied the new cooling technology that is being adopted across the league.

According to reports, AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who was one of the main figures behind the introduction of cooling technology, applied the technology to his Milan squad on Wednesday.

Pirlo’s team are preparing to face the Spanish side Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition.

“This is a great opportunity for me to cool down and cool down with the club, my team and the club’s fans,” Pirlos told the club website.

“We will see who wins the first round.”

The latest edition of the UEFA Champions League has been called off due to the El Niño weather.
