Milan’s Rossoneri fans to ‘beware’ as Lazio lose 2-1 to Juventus

It was a disappointing loss for the Rossonerio and it may well be the end of a long-running streak of Milan victories over Lazio.

The Rossonerios opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Alessandro Florenzi converted a free kick from the left flank after Lazio’s Diego Gómez was fouled in the box.

In the 16th minute, Antonio Diamanti hit a volley from the edge of the box that ricocheted over goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and went just wide.

The Bianconeri were denied another first-half opportunity when Milan substitute Francesco Totti sent a shot into the far corner after Góma’s pass fell to Florenzer.

With the game now tied at 1-1, Lazio midfielder Federico Diamantini turned in a free-kick from the right flank and fired past Gianluigo Giamatti.

The scoreline was the second time in as many matches that Milan have failed to convert from set pieces.

In the first leg, Lazios attacker Giorgio Chiellini went off injured and the club lost 2-0 to Juventus in Turin.
